Race One:Â It was a great battle between Lucas Coenen and Simon Laengenfelder in the opening race. It was the Belgian that held the early lead but the German was able to make a move but the pair would swap positions a couple more times. In the end it was Coenen who made the decisive pass to win the moto.
There was chaos on the opening lap with Mikkel Haarup going down, bringing down Zanchi, McLellan and also de Wolf getting tangled up.
Quentin Prugnieres was having the race of his life in the opening stages as he passed Reisulis, Benistant and Everts to move into third! Everts was able to pass him back before Prugnieres crashed ending up in tenth.
De Wolf was able to come back to fourth with Adamo also charging back to fifth after a terrible start.
Race Two:Â Up until the second moto, Kay de Wolf hadn’t been right at the front all weekend but he got the holeshot in the opening moto and started to assert his authority at the front. Prugnieres again was flying and worked his way up to second on his F&H Kawasaki.
Coenen made a pass on Prugnieres to get into second and then started to set his sights on de Wolf. He was able to catch but couldn’t make a pass still and it all came down to the final lap – the Belgian was able to make a move to go 1-1 and what a pass it was!
After an aggressive pass from Everts, Prugnieres responded but it saw him hit the deck and he dropped down to thirteenth but at least he knows his pace is good.
Laengenfelder didn’t have the best of opening laps as he got passed by a few riders but he was able to come back from sixth to pass Everts for fourth. He closed on Haarup too but the Triumph rider held onto third.
There’s now 44 points that separate de Wolf and Coenen int he championship chase with two to go.
