Romain Febvre’s future has officially been confirmed, with Ducati announcing the signing of the reigning MXGP World Champion.
The news comes shortly after Kawasaki Racing Team confirmed that Febvre will part ways with the team at the end of the 2026 MXGP World Championship season, bringing an end to a successful seven-year partnership.
Ducati have now revealed that they have secured the services of the Frenchman on a two-year deal, with Febvre set to race the factory Ducati machinery during the 2027 and 2028 MXGP World Championship seasons.
It is a major statement of intent from the Italian manufacturer as they continue to establish themselves at the highest level of motocross. Signing the reigning MXGP World Champion is a huge coup for Ducati and underlines their ambition to fight consistently for victories and championships. Febvre’s arrival will bring a wealth of experience, race-winning pedigree and championship-winning know-how to the factory Ducati project as the brand looks to take the next step in its development.
With one of the sport’s biggest stars now under the Ducati awning, all eyes will be on the exciting new partnership when Febvre lines up in red for the 2027 MXGP season.

MXGP- Double world champion Romain Febvre is set to join Ducati as an official rider in 2027 and 2028!
Ducati Corse Off-Road is pleased to announce that Romain Febvre will ride for the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team for the next two seasons. Born in Épinal (France) on 31st December 1991, Febvre, who made his debut in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship in 2012, before moving up to the premier class in 2015, will compete in the 2027 and 2028 championships in the official Ducati team managed by Louis Vosters.
The 34-year-old champion from France has two MXGP world titles (2015 and 2025) and two second places in 2021 and 2023 to his name, as well as a third place in the MX2 world championship standings in 2014. Febvre has also achieved 26 Grand Prix victories, 97 podiums and four successes in the Grand Prix of Nations with the French National Team (2015, 2016, 2017, 2023).
