Ken de Dycker is set to make a surprise return to racing, with the Belgian confirmed to line up for one weekend only at his home event in Lommel.
The 42-year-old enjoyed a remarkable Grand Prix career, establishing himself as one of the sport’s top riders. During his time at world championship level, de Dycker claimed five MXGP overall victories and twenty-two individual moto wins. He also finished third in the MXGP World Championship on two occasions, ending the 2008 and 2013 seasons on the overall podium.
With nothing left to prove after such an accomplished career, de Dycker has decided to pull the boots back on for a one-off appearance in the MX Open class at Lommel.
If there is one circuit that most riders wouldn’t choose for a comeback, it’s the demanding Belgian sand track. However, de Dycker knows the venue better than most and is embracing the challenge regardless.
The objective isn’t results or championship points—it’s simply about enjoying the experience. Fans will get the chance to see one of Belgium’s most popular riders back behind the gate, rolling back the years and racing with a smile on his face, free from the pressure that comes with professional competition.
