The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championships takes a trip to Scandinavia this weekend, as the Glimminge Motorstadion circuit near the town of Uddevalla hosts the MXGP of Sweden in the south-west of the country which has one of the most glorious histories in the sport!
Jeffrey Herlings has, by his standards, a not so impressive record here as he leads the MXGP series for Honda HRC Petronas, and he will be looking for his first Swedish GP win here in the premier class! Defending World Champion Romain Febvre, now up to second in the standings, won his most recent Grand Prix here with a perfect 1-1-1 weekend in 2025, so he could challenge “The Bullet” around Uddevalla this year! Watch out though, for the dynamic home hero Isak Gifting, who got everybody roaring for him with an incredible ride last year, so who knows what he can do in 2026?!
The MX2 class is being led by the Spaniard Guillem Farres, confirmed as staying with the Triumph Racing Factory Team for an MXGP assault next year, and he would dearly like to move up as Champion! Sacha Coenen and Camden McLellan will be doing their best to deny him that chance, while reigning Champ Simon Längenfelder has never finished off the podium at this venue! MX2 could be wide open!
