Race One: The conditions are wild as it continues to rain in Spain but that didn’t bother young Italian, Honda HRC rider, Ferruccio Zanchi who looks a million dollars in the brutal conditions. Liam Everts was riding strong in second and kept it close for the first half of the race but then lost touch – second still a strong result.
Kay de Wolf passed Thibault Benistant to finish in third – solid! It was a disastrous start for Adamo as he went down before even making it to the first corner, tagging with Sacha Coenen – the Italian battled hard through to ninth.
Simon Langenfelder also had a bad start and despite a crash battled through to fifth.
Race Two: There was more rain right before the second moto – exactly what was needed (not!). Liam Everts was on another level and riding a different track from the rest. He won by a gap over a minute and twenty seconds ahead of his team mate, Kay de Wolf.
Moto one winner, Zanchi had issues on the first lap so had to work his way through the field. The Italian ended up tenth to save a podium!
On the last lap, De Wolf had company as Adamo and Langenfelder were right there – on the last corner Langenfelder touched Adamo and went down – he needed to make the pass for the podium.
Kay de Wolf has the championship plate heading to round three next weekend.
