Official: Star Yamaha withdraw from 2026 MXoN consideration

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has confirmed that it will not participate in the 2026 Motocross des Nations at Ernée, France, with the demanding SMX schedule and associated travel and support costs cited as the reasons behind the decision.

The news means the United States will be without two of its biggest stars at this year’s event, as Haiden Deegan and Justin Cooper will miss the 2026 MXoN. Cole Davies will also miss out.

Deegan and Cooper had been expected to be key contenders for Team USA, making Yamaha Star Racing’s withdrawal a major blow to the American squad’s hopes of challenging for victory in France.

Yamaha posted the following statement:

“Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing to Withdraw from Consideration for 2026 MXoN”

“Due to the demanding schedule of the SMX series, and after factoring in the associated travel and support costs, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing and Yamaha Motor USA have collectively decided to withdraw both its 250 and 450 teams from consideration in participating in the upcoming 2026 MXoN in Ernée, France”.

“The team expresses its gratitude to the AMA for consideration, and appreciates its fans, partners, and the broader moto community for their understanding and support”.
