It was the battle we all wanted (aside from Chase Sexton), Eli Tomac and Jett Lawrence both on form battling each other through the pack with Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen up front reliving their own rivalry!
But the past (Tomac) and the future (Jett) created the perfect battle right now as the two different generations battled for supremacy at the front and in front of a packed out and LOUD San Diego. This was the race everyone wanted to see, Tomac in beast mode taking on Jett Lawrence and, finally it happened.
There were signs at the end of last season in SMX and MXON that Tomac was back in form but even then, Jett was able to run him down and make the pass. Last Saturday night, Tomac passed Jett and, while Jett chased him, this time he could not pass him. Prime time Tomac is back!

Those WSX races have gave Tomax that edge he needed, he is prepared this year, this is the real Eli Tomac and he has the crowd behind him! Every move was cheered on Saturday night, the crowd following his every move. They wanted this comeback story and they got it.
450 supercross could not be in a better place. Tomac on form, Jett now comfortable on that Honda, Roczen and Webb right there with Sexton fortunately not having Dylan Ferrandis land on him and storming back to sixth to underlines his raw speed is still there from A1 (and he caught Tomac bit by bit in the heat race).
These four plus an improving Hunter Lawrence, a fast Jason Anderson plus Barcia and Stewart are up for a fight as well as a fighting Ferrandis and a jumpy Justin Hill, this class isn’t just stacked in theory it’s stacked in reality.

The old guys are running with the young guys, that is what makes a memorable season, this is a moment in time that won’t last forever, so enjoy the moment!
