Qualifying race results: MXGP World Championship RD3 – Riola

The MXGP qualifying race was the normal race for Jorge Prado in 2024. Despite a crash in free practice which saw him hurt his ankle, he passed Jeremy Seewer for the lead and pulled away at the front.

It didn’t take Tim Gajser long to find away around Seewer but he didn’t have anything for Prado who was sublime again in brutal conditions.

Jeffrey Herlings actually started in the top five but isn’t up to speed in the opening laps yet. It took him to long to pass Seewer and after that the front two were gone.

One rider that had a disastrous moto race Romain Febvre who went down at turn one, then after getting himself up to fifteenth had a bike problem which meant a DNF.

After getting the holeshot, Seewer ended up fourth on his KRT machine ahead of Pauls Jonass and Calvin Vlaanderen.

Brian Bogers was eighth on his MXGP return – not a bad start on his Fantic.

Ben Watson was twelfth with Todd Kellett ending up nineteenth on the factory Yamaha.
