Francisco Garcia has made an impressive start to his 2025 EMX250 campaign after inking a deal with the BUD Kawasaki team over the off-season. The talented Spaniard, who showed flashes of his potential last year, has stepped things up this season and is already reaping the rewards of the switch.
Garcia took his first overall win of the season at the iconic Arco di Trento circuit—a venue where he also reached the podium in 2024. Now looking far more comfortable on the BUD Kawasaki, the young Spaniard is clearly adapting well to his new environment and has climbed to fourth in the championship standings.
“Yeah, it’s true, last year’s podium here at Arco di Trento,” Garcia told GateDrop.com after his victory. “It is not my favourite track but this year I am faster in all the conditions and I am really happy with my team, with me, also a little bit crazy with the crowd but the race is like this, it’s possible to win the overall and I am happy.”
The weekend was also memorable for Spanish motocross as Garcia was joined on the podium by a fellow countryman, Adria Monne.
“Oh yeah, I’ve never seen two Spanish guys on the podium, it’s good, the Spanish guys on the podium, I’m really happy,” he said. “I’m happy with it all, with the bike, team, with it all and it is really good.”
Settling into life in France, Garcia is enjoying his new surroundings and the camaraderie within the BUD Kawasaki squad.
“Yeah, France is all different but all good. I am learning the language a little bit, yeah. Really good times with Jake (Cannon), he is a really good friend. The goal is to fight for the EMX250 championship.”

Despite his strong start, Garcia is keeping his feet on the ground and not getting ahead of himself when it comes to long-term plans which should involve him making the step up to the MX2 World Championship at some stage.
“No, we aren’t thinking about the future at the moment,” he added.
With a victory now under his belt and momentum on his side, Garcia will be one to watch as the EMX250 season continues to unfold.
Garcia also added the following comments in a BUD Racing press release:
“I had really good speed this weekend and I wanted to win again after my first victory on Saturday. I didn’t have much luck in the mud at the first two rounds of the series but I have felt so good since I joined Bud Kawasaki. I had a really good feeling with the track and my KX250 immediately from the start of the weekend. My start was not so good on Saturday but I could soon pass into the lead and push to open up a gap. On Sunday the track was really tough in the rain and I guess I pushed just a little too hard but I was on the top of the box anyway. It’s my first-ever overall win in EMX and I am so happy, not only for myself but also for the team and for my father who is the most important person in my life. I now have a lot of confidence; with our first win the season has really kicked in.”
