With the 2026 EMX250 Championship now wrapped up, Mads Fredsøe has confirmed that he has parted ways with the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM team.
The young Dane enjoyed a solid campaign in the highly competitive EMX250 class, finishing fifth in the championship standings. While Fredsøe showed flashes of the speed and potential he possesses throughout the season, he will no doubt have been hoping for more from his campaign.
Fredsøe has continued to develop throughout the year and demonstrated on several occasions that he has the pace to run towards the sharp end of the field. However, consistency will be the area he will be looking to build on as he considers his next move.
With his time at Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM now coming to an end, Fredsøe’s future remains unknown at this stage.
The big question now is where we will see the talented Dane in 2027. A return to the EMX250 Championship for another season could be an option, while a move to the MX2 World Championship would represent the next step in his career.
Whatever comes next, hopefully we will see Fredsøe back in the Grand Prix paddock next season as he looks to continue his development and show just what he is capable of.
His season isn’t over yet as he will line up at the Motocross des Nations for team Denmark on the 450cc – his goal is now to prepare for that event.
Fredsøe posted the following message on social media:
“P5 in the EMX250 2026 Championship. Quite disappointing season to say the least. Flashes of great stuff, but never really put it on paper overall. I could sit here and write a lot of why things didn’t go my way this season. It’s a lot of stuff combined, mechanicals, change in structure, ect. but I’ll also have to look inwards. I need to find the fun back in the sport and the fire inside me. I love this game don’t get me wrong, but just haven’t been myself lately with the circumstances here”.
“I want to thank Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM for these 2 years together but now it comes to an end. Happy days, sad days, laughing, crying we had it all. 1 ADAC title, EMX250 podium, EMX250 moto win, was some of the highlights. Thank you guys”.
“Now I go home, get some fresh air, new people and a new bigger bike training hard for the MXoN in 4 weeks’ time. I’m excited”.
