Cairoli open to racing some US Nationals for Ducati!

Rumours have been circulating that Antonio Cairoli may be in line to race the Ducati in some AMA motocross races in 2025 in what would be an iconic moment for the brand making its off-road debut in the States with one of the best ever creating history once again.

We asked the nine time world champ Cairoli when we caught up with him at A1 if he would like to race the Ducati in America and if it was possible to do so, he told us:

Yeah, I mean, I’ve always been a fan of the AMA Nationals. I was here in 2022 for some rounds, it was just for fun, so I had some good results also, and yeah, you never know to launch the bike in the US, it would be a nice thing with an Italian rider and an Italian bike, so we are not on the plan yet, but yeah, if there is an opportunity, I would like it.”

Cairoli was hired by Ducati to develop and test the bike but did some races in 2024. He contested an Italian Championship as well as the Dutch MXGP in Arnhem and he showed good pace at both.

It was a good first year for Ducati in the sport as they won the MX1 Italian Championship with Alessandro Lupino – the first time of asking and they’re now preparing for their first full MXGP World Championship after signing Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini.

America could be in for a special summer with an Italian legend debuting the Ferrari of motorcycles in the US motocross series via the TLD Ducati team.
