After an injury hindered his season last year, Dave Kooiker has had his plans confirmed for the 2025 season – he won’t be with Schmicker KTM this year but he will remain racing KTM machinery.
The Dutch rider will receive support through WPM Motors in collaboration with Van Venrooy KTM Racing for the year ahead and is already preparing for the upcoming season.
“I am very excited to start this new journey with amazing people for the 2025 season”, Kooiker told GateDrop.com.
The one thing that isn’t clear yet is what bike Kooiker will race. A decision will be made at a later date whether he will race the 250cc or the 450cc.
The main focus for Kooiker will be racing in the Netherlands and Germany for the upcoming season but when he feels good – he hasn’t ruled out racing World Championship events.
“I will contest the ADAC MX Masters as well as the Dutch Masters and then Dutch Nationals if possible. Then when the speed is there, selected World Championship races as well”, Kooiker revealed.
Fingers crossed the Dutch talent can remain injury free in 2025 and he can build as the season progresses.
