Race One: Like he’s done so often this year, Francisco Garcia was leading on the first lap and pulled away from the rest of the pack – total domination. Nicolai Skovbjerg got a start in the top ten – he actually lost some spots in the first laps but worked his way into second – more like it after a disappointing weekend in Italy.
Joe Brookes had a great race – it was looking like he’d finish in third but Elias Escandell passed him towards the end but fourth was still strong. Simone Mancini rounded out the top five holding off Mads Fredsoe.
Jake Cannon wasn’t riding to his usual level crashing when in tenth which dropped him to thirteenth.
Race Two: It was much of the same for Garcia in race tw0 as he’s on another level. Katona got a top five start on his Van Venrooy KTM and was riding great as he made passes to get himself into second and that’s where he finished.
Brookes didn’t have a great start but made passes to get himself into third which was good enough to secure a podium – second overall!
Escandell also secured a podium finishing fourth to secure third overall.
Garcia is on course to win the championship with two rounds to go because he has over a 100 points advantage in the championship chase.
