After a crash in qualifying and then the heat race, Cooper Webb delivered yet again when it really mattered as his title rivals faltered. Webb passed holeshot man Justin Barcia on lap one and sped away with the win and even Chase Sexton had no answer to Webb’s pace once he got into second. Then, to make matters worse, Sexton fell in the sand and that let Justin Cooper into second and Sexton lost more points to his championship rival.
Webb said: “I was pissed off, I made a lot of mistakes today. It was an awesome race, executed my start, put in some sprint laps and put it on cruise control.”
What of Ken Roczen? He had a bad start and then got caught behind a fallen Jason Anderson turn one and had to come from 20th as he saw Webb and Sexton up front. Roczen got to tenth in a couple of laps but from there his progress stopped for a number of laps as he struggled to find a line to pass Savatgy, McElrath and Stewart. It cost Roczen his rhythm but he would eventually get through to seventh, a costly night in the championship.
What a start! Barcia leads, Roczen caught up in the first turn!

Seth Hammaker took a 250 holeshot to checkers win in a perfect race to win the first East/West shooutout of the year. This was a statement ride as Hammaker held off Tom Vialle to take the win with Haiden Deegan, third, but the Star Yamaha rider, went off track flying over a berm just when he had the two leaders in sight having come from seventh. But Deegan kept his championship lead with Vialle taking the championship lead in the West with one point over Max Anstie who finished seventh.

Rivalling Hammaker for ride of the night was Cole Davies, who had a top five start but Shimoda went up the inside of the Kiwi in the sand and Davies went down, dropping back to sixteenth, before putting on a clinic of precision int he ruts to come all the way back to fifth, without that crash he was in the mix for the win!
