Race One: Jett Lawrence showed no rust after his injury lay-off and made it business as usual to the dismay of his rivals as he took the holshot and checked out! Justin Cooper took second with Hunter Lawrence third, Eli Tomac fourth and Aaron Plessinger fifth. Jorge Prado took a solid seventh with Valentin Guillod and Benoit Paturel battling each other all moto and catching Anderson who took ninth, Guillod tenth and Paturel eleventh.
Chase Sexton had a nightmare moto, having to remove his goggles on lap one once he got into third, Hunter Lawrence then repassed him and Sexton then crashed while holding Tomac off for fourth. Sexton got back up slowly and headed back to the pits, unable to continue.

Cooper Webb had a mechanical issue that meant he had to DNF, meaning the top two riders from supercross didn’t finish the first moto of the outdoor season!

Race Two: Jett Lawrence led every lap of race two but it was still the battle that everyone wanted to see as Eli Tomac gave Jett everything he had had – but still couldn’t find a way to make the pass on the alien that is Jett Lawrence. Whatever Tomac had, Jett found just a bit more to stay ahead and underline just how much of an amazing rider he is under pressure. No mistakes and a perfect comeback from Jett Lawrence, even beating beast mode! Jett Lawrence, amazingly, has led every lap he has ever raced on a 450 at Pala – incredible.

It was a win that had Jett Lawrence in tears after a long, painful road of recovery from his ACL injury.
Jett said: “That (emotion) probably starts all the way back from my ACL, the painkillers, the highs and the lows, and all the other distractions we’ve been having. That’s for all the negative stuff that’s thrown at us – you can’t budge me, that’s it! I had a few beast mode attacks from, I was doing everything I could to do that section good, I ended up finding some good lines and ended up getting a nice gap. It was good to have that race adrenalin again!”
Tomac said: “I tried my heart out. It was close for about 25 minutes, it was really fun. We both had our spots of the track were we would make time on each other. It is definitely a joy to race Jett.”
Hunter Lawrence was third until he went off track on the last lap, giving Plessinger third with Hunter taking fourth and Jorge Prado improving to fifth – until Jason Anderson passed him on the last lap and demoted him to sixth. Unfortunately Chase Sexton looks to have had to surrender his title already after not being able to line up for moto two following his first moto crash.
