Jason Anderson and Jett Lawrence have been fined a thousand dollars each after their altercation at the end of the main event in San Diego.

Swapmoto live said on Instagram: ” $1000. We reached out to the AMA, Kawasaki, and Honda to get confirmation of the amount for San Diego’s post-race interaction, which is outlined in the Participant Conduct section but not listed in the At-Track Violations and Penalty Table of the 2024 rule book. We first asked the AMA, as the Penalty Report stated both riders were fined for Code of Conduct violations.
“We intentionally leave out the amounts for a few different reasons, including the privacy of the talks with the athletes,” said Director of Racing Mike Pelletier. “If the athletes want to share it, they can. The fees will be directed to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit.”
Inquiries with Honda and Kawasaki followed. Team Honda HRC’s stand is that the payment details were a matter between their rider and the AMA. They directed us to the Lawrence camp for further information.
Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Manager Dan Fahie provided a quote, saying, “Both of them were fighting for spots up front. Every point counts, especially with these first 3 rounds. Both lost their tempers, but it was a quick de-escalation on both ends. They want to move forward and focus on A2. Also, the fine is $1000.” Wasserman Sports Agent Lucas Mirtl also confirmed the amount, saying, “1000$ and 1000$ for every time someone in the media offers their opinion on it.”
Lawrence has already apologized to Anderson and said he’d pay his fine.
