Injury update: Jamie Keith – likely to be OUT for the rest of the season

It promised to be a big year for British talent Jamie Keith as he secured a ride with the JK Yamaha team and prepared for his first full season in the EMX125 championship. With a strong off-season behind him and a solid team in his corner, things were looking up for the Brit.

However, the 2025 campaign has turned into a bit of nightmare for Keith, with injuries consistently halting his momentum. After suffering a couple of shoulder injuries early in the year, he made his return at the second round of the British Championship at Canada Heights — and marked it with a win, showing glimpses of his potential.

Eager to carry that form into the EMX125 championship, Keith was targeting a return at the German round in Teutschenthal. Unfortunately, while training in the lead-up to the GP, another setback struck.

A training incident left Keith with a bad foot injury, and he has since undergone surgery. The damage is significant enough that the young Brit fears his 2025 season is effectively over.

He’ll also miss the Junior World Championship event which heads to France next month which is another blow.

Keith posted the following update on social media:

What a rubbish year.  Two weeks ago I was training in Germany ready for the Teutschenthal GP and I got a little bit sketchy and dabbed my foot. Long story short I’ve made a real mess of my foot.  I have just come out of surgery as I’m writing this and safe to say, I think my 2025 is over, the surgeon has said that it will take a minimum of three months to get back to 100%. I would just like to thank everyone who’s supported for in this tough year, it really has been a test for me physically and mentally.
