Jeffrey Herlings has admitted that he isn’t looking forward to having to look retirement in the eyes as he approaches 30 years old.

Speaking to Jeff Perrett after taking pole at Hawkstone Park Herlings said:

“I’m 30 next month, I know I have got maybe two or three years left in me, maybe four, best case scenario, most likely two or three years and then it will be done so, it also brings a lot of emotions up. I have been doing it all my life since I was a kid and knowing it’s going to stop soon – I don’t like that!”

Herlings also reflected back on his Lommel first moto saying:

“When I rode back to the truck after that first moto was like, that was good, man that’s like the old days, I smashed them! The thing is success is temporary. You are as good as your last race, if I do bad in Sweden, people will already forget about Lommel. Success comes quick and goes quick.”

Herlings also says he is hoping to race the final two rounds of the British championship to go for the British title – and he says he is interested to see how the new update will GP for his starts today!

“We gave an update with us and it’s a great thing to try out, how it’s going to be in the race scenario, so I am very curious to see how my start will be, especially in moto one. Races like this are perfect test races.”
