Switzerland has revealed its trio for the 2026 Motocross of Nations, and it is an experienced team – one that was already together four years ago – that will head to Ernée on October 3 and 4. Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod and Kevin Brumann will represent Switzerland in Mayenne, with the goal of improving on the eighth-place finish they achieved at Ironman last year.
On paper, Switzerland is relying on two long-time Motocross of Nations regulars in Seewer and Guillod, joined this year by Brumann, who will make his second appearance at the event. It is an interesting combination, although the Swiss team will still need to take another step forward if they are to challenge for a podium position.
Since 1985, Switzerland has never managed to win the Motocross of Nations, nor have they ever stood on the podium. Their best result in the history of the event remains fifth, achieved twice: at Ernée in 2015 and Matterley Basin in 2017. A return to Mayenne could therefore provide another opportunity to move closer to the podium, which has eluded the Swiss for several decades.
For Jeremy Seewer, the 2026 edition will mark his 14th Motocross of Nations selection. After leaving Ducati midway through the season, the Swiss rider revived his career with Van Venrooy KTM and will head to Ernée with a new dynamic following a particularly eventful season. He will also drop down to the MX2 class for the occasion.
Valentin Guillod is even more experienced at the Nations. The Swiss rider is preparing to compete in his 15th MXoN, while extending an impressive run of 13 consecutive appearances at the event. After racing the US Supercross series in the 250 class this year, Guillod switched back to a 450 for the outdoor season with Gizmo Racing. His experience across the Atlantic will add to an already impressive résumé before he returns to represent Switzerland in the MXGP class.
The third spot goes to Kevin Brumann, who will make his second appearance after his debut at RedBud in 2022. Since then, the Swiss rider has gained valuable experience on the world stage and is competing in his fourth MXGP season this year. However, Brumann must first recover from the injuries he suffered following his collision with Jago Geerts at Uddevalla. The Swiss rider is expected to be fully recovered by Ernée and will therefore be able to represent his country at the Motocross of Nations alongside two particularly experienced teammates. He will compete in the Open class.
At Ironman in 2025, Switzerland finished eighth with a team consisting of Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod and Nico Greutmann. This year, the Swiss change their third rider, bringing in Brumann while retaining their two usual leaders.
