Hunter Lawrence knows all about a winner takes all title decider having lived through the pressure and disappointment just over four months ago as he narrowly lost the 450 Supercross title to Ken Roczen.
Now, he gets to live another intense title decider, with a one point advantage over brother Jett heading into the final round of 450 Pro Motocross. But Hunter says it isn’t exactly the same situation as Supercross. “It’s a little different,” opined Hunter. “I feel like in Supercross, you know, one shot, right? Outdoors, you have way more time on the track. You’ve got two chances, two motos. So, not really Deja vu. I’m up this time. I was down going into Salt Lake, so it’s not the same.
“And yeah, I mean, I’m going in, giving my all. I’ve proven today (at Budds Creek) that mental side of things is not really an issue with myself being able to bounce back and stuff. So, whatever the result will be, it’ll be. Hopefully, I can come out on top.”
The championship is no doubt on both of their minds but both brothers seem pretty relaxed this week despite the importance of Saturday’s result!
