As per www.DailyMotocross.fr, Tom Guyon has parted ways with the Riley Kawasaki team before the 2025 season has even got underway.
The Riley Racing structure are due to make a return to the GP paddock for 2025 but it is a project that has deviated from it’s initial ambitions.
The Dutch outfit owned and managed by Olaf Haazen – was due to field Tom Guyon and Kay Karssemakers in the MX2 World Championship in 2025, with support from Kawasaki. However, plans have changed since the official announcement.
With a month and a half to go before the opening round of the 2025 MXGP season, Tom Guyon’s contract with Riley Racing Kawasaki has been terminated. According to our information, the French rider has never taken possession of the 250 KX-F to prepare for the new season, has been left without news, and it is rumoured that a handful of the team’s contractual obligations have not been met.
In short, Tom Guyon preferred to leave the venture before the doors closed. At the time of writing, Tom is actively working on a new programme so that he can bounce back in the best possible way in 2025. It should be noted that 2025 marks Tom Guyon’s last year of eligibility for the MX2 World Championship, due to his age. Tom is expected to announce his new plans in the near future, away from Riley Racing and Kawasaki. It is believed that, following this turn of events, Tom Guyon will not be racing the entire MX2 World Championship in 2025, as previously agreed with Riley Racing.
For its part, the Riley Racing Kawasaki team has been renamed and registered under a new name with the World Championship promoter, Infront Moto Racing. Moving forward the team will now be known as Haaz Racing. At the time of writing, it is understood that the new Haaz Racing entity will still support Kay Karssemakers in the MX2 World Championship for the 2025 season, and that he will be racing a 250 KX-F.
