Cooper Webb has confirmed 2026 will be his final season racing Pro Motocross as he will be Supercross only from 2027 on!
Webb, who is being heavily linked to ride for Team Tedder in 2027 with factory Husqvarna support said he has signed a deal for the next two seasons and that won’t include outdoors: “So there obviously has been a lot of rumors going around, the biggest one is I will be racing in 2027 and 2028, I can’t tell you too much more than that, but it’s for sure going to be a done deal. I will be racing outdoors this year on my Star Racing Yamaha, I’m super excited for it, and with that being said, it will be my final year of racing Pro Motocross, so I’m excited. I’m going to put my best foot forward, we’ve had some podiums, we had a win before, but didn’t really ever have the results that I truly was hoping for as a 450 outdoor guy, but with that being said, this is our last go around, but hopefully change that, try to be there all summer.”
“So for me, the decision to this be my final Pro Motocross year is just kind of a combination of a few things. Obviously as we know, I really specialize in Supercross and I am 30, so I’ve had a good run, and I want to continue racing, but I just want to continue to race where I feel like I excel a little bit more, which is the Supercross championship here in the US, and we’re looking at maybe other avenues of racing Supercross as well around the world. So yeah, I think for me, I’ve done my time, my body still feels good, but as we know, the Outdoors series is a whole other grind, and like last year, I tore my knee up racing it and had to get surgery, so stuff like that, that takes it out of you, tat then can affect AMA Supercross stuff like that.”
Webb added: “I don’t really have the same flair in motocross as I used to as far as the excitement or even as I think we’ve seen in the last few years, my speed’s okay, but it’s not as good as it is in Supercross and my results and stuff like that. So yeah, this was a decision that I kind of made to extend my career, I feel like if I did Supercross, it would allow me to focus heavily on Supercross and be able to give my all then and then give my body and mind and everything, the little break it needs during the summer to reset for SMX and potentially another Supercross series.”
