Race One: Glenn Coldenhoff took a stunning win after Lucas Coenen made a mistake early in the race and handed the Dutchman a lead he refused to relinquish. Jeffrey Herlings started fourth, almost got passed by an excited Cairoli, then upped the pace, pushing his way by Fernandez then passing Coenen and getting on the back wheel of Coldenhoff. It looked like it was Herlings on hsi way to the lead but Coldenhoff was stubborn and mistake free and it was Herlings with a few laps to go who made the mistake and went down just as he readying another charge for the lead.
Coenen then took the mantle of the Coldenhoff hunter but even the 18 year old was unable to ruffle a stoic Coldenhoff who took a brilliant win with Coenen second, Febvre third, Herlings fourth and Fernandez fifth as Cairoli had a superb ride to take seventh at nearly 40 years old!

Race Two: Romain Febvre took the holeshot and the win despite some late pressure from Ruben Fernandez who had a fantastic ride on the Honda. The top five from moto one were on a different level again but this time it was Febvre who got the start, from Fernandez, Coenen, Herlings and Coldenhoff and that is how it stayed throughout the race despite the intensity from all five to better their position. Glenn Coldenhoff threw everything at Herlings on the last lap but Herlings held Coldenhoff at bay as Febvre took the overall win and extended his world championship lead over Lucas Coenen.
Tony Cairoli had another storming race to take seventh and celebrated with a big whip over the finish line, what a special talent the Italian is!
