Prado’s comments on a statement Riola win – confident!

Jorge Prado might just be in the form of his life with another perfect performance against his title rivals to win every moto in the deep sand and the hot temperatures! After going head-to-head with Gajser in race one for the win and coming out on top he had Jeffrey Herlings to contend with in race two.

Herlings FINALLY got away in second and chased Prado for the first time all year. Throughout race two the dutchman was right on the Spaniard, the gap hovering around two second, hut he looked to be making a charge for the win when he dropped it with 12 minutes to go ending the excitement of a fight to the end to be sand king!

A cold Prado then commented: “Controlled the race with a good pace, just waiting until the other ones couldn’t hold on anymore and it was about that today. (It) was so physical with the track, you just had to hold onto the bike, no mistakes. Second moto Jeffrey was behind me already from I think lap two or lap one so, I thought. ‘alright let’s see if he can hold on,’ and well, he just couldn’t.

“Tim did a good two motos and also yesterday, every time pushing myself, I couldn’t let off because he was there all the time.

“I’m in good moment right now. I feel good with the bike, good physically, I have been training super hard this year. Everything is going well. i am happy to win in the sand again, it’s been a long time since I got an overall in the sand. Last year I was very close a few times, I guess now you can call me sand man again!”

Meanwhile Gajser said: “It was a consistent weekend, so i have to be happy. We take important points for the championship. Didn’t feel that good all weekend, we were struggling a little bit with the bike set-up but anyway, still on the podium, now the sand is done and we go to Arco, really looking forward to going there with so many fans.”

Herlings, who is bound to take some confidence from the fact he was right on Prado despite some injured ribs sustained yesterday in crash in practice, commented: “Every GP we are getting better 7/8 in Argentina, fourth last GP and already on the podium. After the crash I had yesterday in warm-up , thankful to be here with my ribs, no excuses, third was all I had for today. I feel like we are getting better so let’s keep on going.”
