Race One: Daniela Guillen got the holeshot and was riding well at the front of the pack but it got close between her, Fontanesi and Van Drunen who didn’t get the best of starts. But she came through and passed them both to get into the lead.
However, Guillen stayed with the Dutch talent and they got side by side – Van Drunen went down!
Fontanesi stayed close to Guillen but it was the Spaniard that took the win.
Duncan had a good ride in fourth with Van Drunen who rounded out the top five.
Race Two: Guillen nailed yet another holeshot which saw her on the lead on lap one. The determined Spaniard rode the perfect race to go 1-1 – she has started the season in impressive form.
Meanwhile, Van Drunen had issues on the opening lap and had to ride at the back of the field – being a short championship it’s going to be tough for her to comeback but nothing is impossible so you never know!
Fontanesi rode a solid race for second with Van der Vlist riding great for third ahead of Amandine Verstappen. Lynn Valk rounded out the top five ahead of Lucy Barker.
Larissa Papenmeier finished seventh and got a huge response from the crowd at the end of her race – it was her 100th GP in front of her fans – an emotional one.
