Alfie Herron:
“I am really happy to be picked to represent team Ireland again, this is my sixth time riding for Ireland and it still feels good to be picked. I am really looking forward to what looks to be a technical track and i would like to thanks Richard McKeown for stepping up as team manager again. I will give it my all”.

65cc
Mason Shields:
“I’m absolutely delighted for to be selected to represent Team Ireland at the Junior World Championship in the Czech Republic this July. I’ve worked extremely hard both on and off the bike to earn this opportunity. Physically, I’ve been training with Emma McQuaid from The Daily Grind, and on the bike I’m following a training programme with Richard McKeown.
I’ve been having a strong season so far, and this selection is a reward for all the hard work and commitment I’ve put in. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going heading into the Worlds in July. I’m excited for the experience and proud to be representing Ireland on the world stage.”
Jake Sayers:
“I’m delighted to be selected to ride for Ireland, it’s always been a dream for me. I’m very excited to get stuck in, I know it will completely different anything I’m use to back home so it will be all learning but I’ll give it my best and enjoy the experience”.
“This year is my second year riding in the 65cc class and I’m really enjoying it. I have got some great race results back home and in the UK. I’m currently sitting fifth overall in the British Championships which I’m very happy about”.
Caleb Duffy:
“My 2026 season has been really positive so far. I’ve been competing in the SW85 class, contesting the Ulster and Irish Championships, as well as the Plews British Masters, and also to wildcard a few of the ACU British rounds. At the minute I’m leading the Ulster Championship at home and currently sitting 12th in the Plews British Masters. The Irish Championship kicks off this weekend, so I’m looking forward to getting that started as well.
“At 10 years old competing in the bigger class, I feel like I’m a lot further forward than I expected to be at this stage. One of my biggest achievements this year was getting 4th place in Race 3 at Hawkstone, where I also set the 4th fastest lap time, which was a really proud moment for me”.
“Overall, I’m really happy with where I’m at this season. One of my goals at the start of the year was to break into the top 10 in the UK, and I’ve already managed to achieve that, so it’s given me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season. It feels amazing to be selected to ride for Ireland at the Junior World Championship. It’s a huge privilege to represent my country on the world stage and compete against some of the best youth riders in the world. Getting this opportunity means a lot, and I’m really grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. I can’t wait to give it everything out there and make the most of the experience”.
