MX1 race results: Spanish Championship RD2 – Prado wins Lugo

In the first moto it was an aggressive first corner as Ruben Fernandez and Jorge Prado were side by side but Fernandez didn’t give in and came out with the holeshot.

The pair quickly pulled away from the rest of the field and had to deal with so many backmarkers. It was relatively close between them until a couple of minutes to go when Fernandez broke away from Prado to take the win. They lapped EVERYONE else to show how fast they were.  Ander Valentin rode well to finish third ahead of Jose Butron and Carlos Campano who rounded out the top five.

In the second moto, conditions were drier and it was tight around the first corner between Prado and Fernandez again! Fernandez didn’t give in and took the holeshot with Prado hot on his heels.

Prado then made a move but Fernandez wasn’t having it and passed him back – there was contact between the pair and Prado went down. He dropped to 15 seconds back but put the hammer down, he got it down to around four seconds when Ruben crashed out of the lead.
