After a bit if an outcry including from Chase Sexton about team USA and certain people not going, Haiden Deegan has attempted to clarify and blamed his Star Yamaha team.

Deegan said on Instagram: “Wanted to get the record straight I have hardware in my wrist that needs to be taken out after Smx and will have to heal, so the team has made the decision to not let me attend the mxon to make sure I can make pre season training this year on time to give me the best chance at a sx title, so don’t get it confused I’m a racer and wanted to race, and if the opportunity comes up in the future I’d be stoked to do it, thanks to everyone that supports me💪🏼”

Deegan, who has never raced outside his own country, had previously got into arguments himself on social media saying he isn’t scared to race De Wolf because he has raced Vialle in America…

Sexton had told Steve Matthes PulpMX: “Everyone is pointing fingers. I’m pretty frustrated about the whole thing, because there’s just a lot of egos involved and nobody’s honest. It’s just like, ‘This is what we should do. This person is saying this. ‘Dude, we are going to race for our country, there should be no other (thing to consider). The Olympics is the biggest sporting event that all the other sports have. And you can’t even get guys to go race for our country. That should be an honor for you.”

Sexton added: “You’ll see all the guys coming out of the woodworks wanting to race next year. They won’t go this year.

Let’s see if Star let Deegan race when the race is in the US next year.
