Official: Belgium announce 2026 Ernee MXoN squad

Belgium has opted for continuity. During a press conference held at the Lommel Grand Prix, the Belgian Motorcycling Federation (FMB) officially unveiled its line-up for the 2026 Motocross of Nations, which will take place on 3-4 October at Ernée, France.

As expected, the Belgian management has decided to stick with the same trio that represented the nation at the 2025 edition held at Ironman in the United States. Liam Everts (Open), Sacha Coenen (MX2) and Lucas Coenen (MXGP) will once again wear the famous black, yellow and red colours at the prestigious event.

It is a logical decision given the potential shown by Belgium’s exciting young generation. At last year’s event, Lucas, Liam and Sacha guided Belgium to fourth overall at Ironman—the country’s best Motocross of Nations result in several years. The last time Belgium stood on the MXoN podium was in 2019 at Assen, where Jeremy Van Horebeek, Jago Geerts and Kevin Strijbos secured second place.

Retaining the same line-up also reflects the FMB’s desire to build on stability. Having already competed together in 2025, Lucas, Sacha and Liam are now familiar with the unique atmosphere and demands of the Motocross of Nations and will have the opportunity to continue the progress they began at Ironman a year earlier. Liam will make his fifth MXoN appearance, Lucas his fourth, and Sacha his second.

On paper, Belgium will arrive at Ernée with an ambitious team, in front of what is expected to be a huge French crowd for one of the biggest events of the 2026 season. The objective is clear: to return Belgium to the podium for the first time since 2019, while the nation’s last Motocross of Nations victory remains its triumph at Teutschenthal in 2013.
