Interview: Tony Cairoli on racing AMA Motocross at 40

We caught up with the iconic Tony Cairoli who, despite being retired abd now 40 years old, showed just what a special talent he is by running in the top ten and even top five in AMA Motocross this

Cairoli told us about his speed Stateside; “I  was suprised, because to be honest I had 15 minutes of themoto in my myself and I the last like 25 minutes I was just riding basically with experience and actually I was surprised in a lot of situationS because actually this year I didn’t have any any races before. Last year I went there with two MXGP rounds which helped a lot and this year actually after nine months after the MX of Nations I didn’t add any starts so actually every time I surprised myself a little bit and on the same time I say  if I’d trained better, if I had  more time in Belgium, yeah it could be easier.

“But it’s not what  I want anymore because I don’t like to suffer anymore, you know coming to Belgium and riding a lot in the winter time with the ruts and the cold! But yeah of course, if you have that (prep) in America I’m still able to ride top five / top six every every racen so that’s amazing.”
