Jett Lawrence put in the fastest lap in Q1 at RedBud after the heavy rain yesterday from Hunter Lawrence and Haiden Deegan with RJ Hampshire fourth and Jorge Prado fifth. Antonio Cairoli took 13th – not bad for 40! Deegan ended up losing his best lap time for jumping on the red cross flag putting him sixth.
After Q2 it was Jett on top despite a crash that also took down Jorge Prado who got up and qualified fourth with Hunter Lawrence third and Haiden Deegan second just three tenths off Lawrence.
GP rider Roan van de Moosdijk showed his skills to America taking seventh with Cairoli 12th ahead of Cooper Webb. Amazingly, only four Americans are in the top 12 on the fourth of July in qualifying at Red Bud.
