Stefan Everts was leading the world championship on the 1997 Honda, a bike no-one else wanted to ride, not even the great Jeremy McGrath but Everts was still able to win on the machine and then went across to the USA to take on Jeff Emig and former GP rival Greg Albertyn in an AMA National!
Despite not riding his full GP bike, Everts had some serious speed and really should have podiumed with a win not out of the question if he hadn’t crashed in each moto!
