Official: Ryan Oppliger signs with SixtySeven Racing for 2027

Swiss talent Ryan Oppliger will step up to the EMX250 Championship for the 2027 season after officially signing with SixtySeven Racing.

Oppliger has spent the past two seasons competing in the EMX125 Championship as a privateer on KTM machinery, gaining valuable experience racing across Europe. Now, he will have the backing of an established team as he looks to take the next step in his career.

Oppliger gets his opportunity in EMX250

After two seasons racing the EMX125 championship, moving up to EMX250 represents a new challenge, but joining SixtySeven Racing will give the young Swiss rider an opportunity to continue his development with a team behind him. He will be hoping to make an impression in his rookie season and establish himself in the highly competitive EMX250 category. As well as the EMX250 series, the young Swiss rider will also contest the ADAC MX Youngsters Cup.

SixtySeven Racing prepare for 2027

The signing follows the departure of Danish rider Nicolai Skovbjerg, who joined SixtySeven Racing midway through the 2026 season after parting ways with MX-Handel Husqvarna. Skovbjerg enjoyed an impressive spell with the team, finishing second in the EMX250 Championship before securing a deal with Beddini Ducati to contest the MX2 World Championship as a full factory rider in 2027.

Scott Smulders will continue with the team in the MX2 World Championship after extending his contract, as previously confirmed exclusively to GateDrop.com by team owner Markus Weinbuch. With Oppliger stepping up to EMX250 and Smulders remaining in MX2, SixtySeven Racing are putting their plans in place as they prepare for the 2027 campaign.
