Jan Pancar enjoyed a standout season in the MXGP World Championship, finishing an impressive eleventh in the series while running his own privateer Tem JP253 KTM structure – he ended up finishing the season as the best privateer in MXGP.

The Slovenian wasn’t just consistent across the long GP campaign; he also delivered a career-highlight performance at the Ironman MXoN. Competing in the Open class, Pancar placed fifth overall and played a crucial role in helping Slovenia achieve their best-ever MXoN result with a remarkable fifth in the Nations standings.

After such a strong year, Pancar had hoped his performances would open the door to a factory opportunity for 2026. When we spoke to him immediately after the Ironman MXoN, he suggested it was likely he’d stay with his current programme. Following another follow-up, it is now fully confirmed: Pancar will remain with his privateer Tem JP253 KTM setup for the 2026 MXGP World Championship.

After being unable to secure a full factory ride, Pancar has chosen to continue with the environment he knows best – a tight, family-run effort consisting of himself and his Dad, with the support of his Mum and girlfriend. While the operation is small, the results have shown it’s effective. Pancar has repeatedly proven he can mix it with the world’s best under this structure and will be aiming to take another step forward in 2026.

With renewed belief in his programme and another year of MXGP experience behind him, Pancar will head into the new season with confidence and the determination to build on an already impressive trajectory.

Alongside the MXGP World Championship, Pancar will also contest the Italian Championship once again. After missing out on the title to Isak Gifting this year, he’ll be eager to go one place better and lifting a domestic title in 2026.

Jan Pancar:

“For next season, I have decided to stay with my own team. Unfortunately I didn’t get any good offers but it is what it is. It gives me more motivation to be even better next year. I am already working really hard and I hope the winter preparation goes as smooth as possible to be even better next year. The setup will stay the same for me next year. I would like to thank all my sponsors for making it all possible. I will do my best very to do the best results next year”, Pancar told GateDrop.com.
