The RFME has finalized its team for the 2025 Motocross of Nations (MXoN), which will take place in Indiana, USA, on October 3, 4 and 5.
The three riders who will make up Team Spain and fight for glory at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville are:
Rubén Fernández – MXGP
Guillem Farrés – MX2
Francisco García “Carbonero” – OPEN
Rubén Fernández will take on the role of team captain as Spain lines up in the MXGP category at this prestigious international event, with a big opportunity to showcase his potential at the very top level of world motocross.
Meanwhile, in MX2, Guillem Farrés will compete after enjoying a brilliant season, earning his first podium and a moto victory. Finally, in the Open class, young talent Francisco García “Carbonero” will make his debut with the team, stepping in to replace Jorge Prado, who was forced to withdraw at the last minute due to contractual obligations with his current team.
With this line-up, Spain once again bets on a young and ambitious squad that will head to the USA aiming to fight for a strong result. The three riders will have the logistical support of their respective brands and official teams.
National team manager Paco Rico stated:
“Since the Lommel race we already had the 2025 MXoN team decided, with all agreements in place with the teams to organize logistics in the United States. Although the three selected riders had no setbacks, we did have to deal with health issues and injuries for other riders on my list, as well as Jorge’s last-minute withdrawal. Of course, he was part of the team, but in the end he won’t be on the start line.
Even so, I am convinced we have a great line-up. Rubén takes on the captaincy with the challenge of showing his level in MXGP; I have full confidence in Guillem, who I know can perform at a high level on the 250 in such a demanding race; and Francisco comes in with youth and hunger, which makes him a key piece for us. I’ll need to calm him more than push him, because I know he’ll give 100% at all times.
I want to especially thank Honda, Triumph and Kawasaki, as well as the RFME, for making it possible for this young and competitive team to represent Spain at the biggest event in world motocross.”
