Jeremy Seewer set the pace during the MXGP free practice session at Ernee on what will be his final race on the Factory Yamaha. MXGP champion, Prado was second ahead of Febvre, Gajser and Lawrence.
Brit, Ben Watson was twelfth on his Beta with Martin Barr sixteenth.
