Julius Mikula will miss this year’s Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France. The Czech rider injured his shoulder in a crash during the MXGP of China and underwent a series of further medical examinations after returning to the Czech Republic. Based on the results, it was decided that Mikula will not compete in this year’s Motocross of Nations.
Mikula will now be given the necessary time to recover. The priority is to allow him to fully recover from his injury and return to training as soon as possible, with the aim of starting his preparations for the new season.
Julius Mikula already represented the Czech Republic at the 2024 Motocross of Nations in the colours of Osička MX Team. This year, he will be supporting the Czech team from home.
“We are, of course, disappointed that Julius will not be able to line up in Ernée and round off the season with the Czech team. However, following his injury in China, his health and allowing him enough time to recover are the most important things now. We believe he will be back on the bike soon and able to fully focus on his preparations for the new season. We wish the Czech team, led by Jiří Čepelák, the best of luck at the Motocross of Nations,” said Osička MX Team.
The Czech MXoN squad have already announced they’ve called up, David Widerwill to the MXoN team to race the MX2 class.
“Injured Julka Mikula will be replaced in the MX2 class by young David Widerwill. David has experience in the MX2 World Championship this year despite his young age (17) and is a regular participant in the German ADAC championship in the Youngsters class”.
