Tom Vialle and Jago Geerts set a blistering pace in the qualifying race with Vialle in the lead but the gap always hovering around a second with a determined Geerts not wanting Vialle to get away and get any mental boost.
They pulled away ten seconds on Kevin Horgmo, but with two laps to go and the pace still hot, Geerts washed out in a corner ending his hopes of the win allowing the Vialle to breath easy for the final two circulations. Geerts got up just in front of Horgmo to secure second, with Vialle saying he could control Geerts in his post-race interview.
Tom Guyon was having a brilliant ride in fourth in the first half of the race until he dropped it twiced and finished outside the top ten.
