Cooper Webb has given his behind the scenes view of his Motocross of Nations and his passion for the event is clear! Webb rode superbly on the Tedder Husqvarna to go 6-6 and lead the US to fifth overall in his debut race on the new bike and says he will never turn down the event even though he is going Supercross only!
An inspirational Webb said: “That’s a wrap everybody, MXoN is officially over. Crazy weekend. This is the best race in the world, I’m going to go ahead and say it, I don’t care what anybody says, this is what it’s all about. You can still hear the fans and we are an hour after the last moto.
“I truly wish every American rider could experience it and hopefully they do but man, what a weekend. I had a great day today, 6-6 but that second moto was maybe one of the best rides ever in my outdoor career. Battled Lucas Coenen for 35 minutes, can’t even fathom that, was battling Jeffrey, passed him back, passed Vialle, Febvre, just in the battle with the baddest of the baddest dudes in the world.
“Yes, Jeffrey went to the front but just to be in that realm for a little bit and ride as good as I did in the second moto was awesome. I gave it the beans, I tied for third overall in my class but ended up fourth. 6-6 for the day with my scores which were super great scores. I’m stoked, I feel like the dog was back today. It felt like 2015/2016 Coop when the pressure was on I just laid it out there and hammered it, I’m super proud of that ride.
“Proud of the boys. Obviously it was a super rough day for those two I think overall. I mean they did great but some crashes, some bad luck and getting cleaned out. I was happy with my performance, I feel like I rose to the occasion. Shout out to the new team, we had four days on the bike racing the fastest riders in the world on a new motorcycle – I don’t want to hear any excuses from any other American ever again to get after it.
“Hopefully I’m a part of this team but if this is it, I left it all out there and I’m proud to be an American. This is the last outdoor as of now but they’ve already asked me if I would be interested and obviously I will never turn this opportunity down. I told them if I have to do a three month boot camp or race some outdoors, whatever it takes, this is the best race in the world and I will never miss out if I’m needed, I’ll be available no doubt!”
