Race One: Maxime Renaux grabbed a rare holeshot and was looking very comfortable at the front on board his Factory Yamaha machine. However, Jeffrey Herlings was well positioned in second and with three laps to go, caught and made a move on Renaux.

Gajser was riding well in third and also made a move on Renaux to finish second to keep his hopes alive of an overall win. Reanux still had a strong race to bring home third.

Romain Febvre got a decent start but then rode tentative on the first lap and actually dropped back to Lucas Coenen who got an even worse start. However, after the first lap he rode much more himself and actually pulled away from Coenen with passes on Coldenhoff and Fernandez. Coenen meanwhile was struggling and went backwards finishing ninth in tough conditions.

Febvre looked like he’d finish fifth behind his team mate but then Pauls Jonass who had a strong race made a mistake losing two positions but he’ll be happy with his pace.
