Race One: It was August Frisk who took the holeshot on his KTM with Nico Greutmann second but Janis Reisulis was third and quickly made a move to get into second. However, the Latvian’s Yamaha started to smoke and there was no surprise to see his bike expire – another DNF!
Frisk has never won an EMX250 race before but it didn’t look like that – he totally dominated in demanding conditions and brought home a super impressive win. After his big crash in Romania at the JWC two years ago left him in a critical condition – it wasn’t a shock to see him emotional at the end of the race.
Garcia rode well despite a crash to bring home third on his BUD Kawasaki with Simone Mancini fourth. Noel Zanocz got a bad start but was able to make passes despite the track being hard to overtake – he came from fifteenth to fifth.
Billy Askew was the best placed Brit in ninth – despite his DNF, Reisulis still has the red plate but is tied on points with Zanocz.
Race Two: It was Frisk who took another holeshot and he pulled away at the front of the field to take another dominate win – he’s the first Swede to win an EMX250 moto and won his first overall the perfect way going 1-1. He is now up to fourth in the championship standings.
Behind him, Askew was second and riding really well on his Dirtstore Triumph staying there for a long period. Garcia was able to make a move to get himself into second before Reisulis and Zanocz also came through but fifth was a strong result.
Greutmann didn’t get a good start but managed to catch and pass Liam Owens who was riding strong himself for sixth. The Swiss talent managed to get on the podium in front of his home crowd.
