With the EMX125 moto getting moved to the last of the day, they had to deal with the most difficult conditions for race one. It was Faure and Mantovani at the front around the first couple of corners but Mancini was quickly on the move.
The Italian made the tough conditions look easy compared to the rest of the riders and ended up winning by more than thirty five seconds! Faure made a mistake but still did well on his MJC Yamaha finishing second ahead of Noel Zanocz who was outside the top fifteen on lap one.
Bervoets rode a good solid race to finish in fifth behind Perez.
Doensen was fifteenth on the first lap and could only recover to eighth in the tough conditions. McCullough was twenty-eighth on lap one before coming home in fourteenth.
The track crew did the best they could overnight and this morning to fix the track the best they could to make it more rideable but it didn’t take long for the track to get sticky and heavy in race two.
Faure got another great start but Zanocz flew around the outside of the young French rider to get to the front. Mancini give Zanocz some pressure early in the moto but the Hungarian responded and then pulled away at the front in what was a Fantic 1-2.
Faure was looking very comfortable in third but then had a crash with a couple of laps to go promoting Doensen up to third but Faure still did enough to get on the podium with the Fantic’s.
McCullough was thirteenth on the first lap but rode really well to get up to sixth and started to catch Ozolins for fifth. He then had a crash over the waves which lead to a DNF as he had issues restarting the bike.
