MX1 race results: International Italian Championship RD2 – Seewer wins at Arco di Trento

The opening race saw Jeremy Seewer take the holeshot on his new Yamaha machine ahead of Tim Gajser so it was certainly on at the front. Gajser was applying the pressure but then at the halfway mark, backmarkers played into Seewer’s favour which give him a comfortable gap. The last few laps, Gajser closed in again but Seewer held on for a strong win. Ruben Fernandez and Maxime Renaux were never too far away as they finished third and fourth in what was a static race around a sketchy track. A couple of the heavy hitters including Alberto Forato and Mattia Guadagnini went down around the first corner.

The second moto didn’t go according to plan as Tim Gajser got a bad start and as he was behind Maxime Renaux, caught a nasty kicker on one the jump faces which saw him take a huge crash. The reigning MXGP World Champion needed to get stretched away and word is from the track is that it’s a knee/leg injury. Our thoughts with Gajser!

At the front, Jeremy Seewer pulled another cracking start and took a strong win in a moto that was red flagged.  The Swiss rider clinched the title and looks good going into Argentina. Ruben Fernandez finished second ahead of Ben Watson who looked strong on the Beta.
