In the opening race it was Sacha Coenen and Thibault Benistant who were side by side after the first corner but going into the second corner it was Benistant in the lead. It didn’t take Lucas Coenen long to pass his twin to get himself into second and he kept Benistant very honest. At the line there was less than a second between the pair who dominated the opening race to pull away from the rest of the field. Sacha rode really well to finish an impressive ahead of Simon Laengenfelder and Liam Everts.
The second race saw the Coenen’s lead the way on the first lap with Sacha ahead of Lucas. It didn’t take Lucas too long to pass his twin and pulled a big gap at the front of the field – he is looking incredible on his Nestaan Husqvarna and took the overall win on the day. A host of top riders struggled with their starts with the likes of Adamo, Benistant, Laegenfelder and Everts buried – Kay de Wolf also got caught up in a first corner pile up. Adamo rode a smart race to come from sixth to second on his Factory KTM. Benistant rode a similar race as Adamo to come home in fourth behind his team mate, Rick Elzinga which was enough to secure the title.
