Haiden Deegan in his latest vlog about moving up the 450 has admitted that the bigger machine, “is a lot of bike”, when it comes to late in the moto!
The confident and determined Deegan has been putting in the laps ahead of Pala that will have the whole world watching American’s AMA Motocross debut on the 450: “That was hard. Once I hit 35, that’s when it kind of starts to suck after. 450’s heavy, obviously, so that’s why I’m trying to do long, long moto, so I just get super strong.
“That’s why I beat people at the end of the race when they’re tired, so. We got 35 minute motos, and you try and pick it up, but, dude, it’s hard. It’s a lot of bike.”
And the kid wants to win badly! “450 hype, it’s real! Everyone’s got this battle made up in their head. I’m ready, I’m about it. I think people kind of think I would accept not winning, which it’s like, I’m going in there with the goal of trying to get to the point of winning, 100%. And honestly, I feel like people see me eat crap and risk my life to win, so I literally say I will die to win.
“I’ve definitely died trying to win. I literally broke my collarbone trying to win a championship. You guys don’t understand, I’ll do anything to win. I couldn’t care less. If I die, I die, I go to heaven, it’s over, if I don’t die I win.”
“I like when I kick someone’s butt so bad, they start to like me. That’s good! That’s what I do it for, man. What’s the competition? Your own competition that you go into head-to-head with starts glazing you – that’s when you know you did something right. The guy that raced me was the only one talking right. The other washed-up dudes got a mouth on them, and they get their ass whooped on a dirt bike.“
