Italian based team, Beddini Racing received factory support last year to take on the EMX250 championship as GasGas decided to step up with their support. However, due to cuts and other factors, the KTM Group have decided to focus more on KTM in the future and as a result Beddini’s GasGas support was short lived.

The team did a good job in 2024 contesting the EMX250 series with Valerio Lata who finished second in the championship at the end of the year. Young Dane, Mads Fredsoe was also under the awning in what was his rookie season in the class and he finished ninth in the standings – not bad at all as a rookie.

After the team owned by Dario Beddini and managed by former GP rider, Joakin Furbetta, found out they’d be losing support from the KTM group for the 2025 season, they faced an uncertain future in the sport.

As previously reported, the team have known for quite some time they wouldn’t be part of the GP paddock in 2025 but had hopes to return in 2026. That is exactly where Ducati come into the picture.

Ducati who are a new manufacturer in the sport have been focused on the 450cc and entering the MXGP class until recently but they have now started to think about their MX2 project. They always intended on racing the MX2 Italian Championship in 2025 – but needed a team to run the setup.

It has now been confirmed that the Beddini Racing team will run the Ducati MX2 GP project moving forward. After running red colours in 2024 – they will still have a red awning but a different brand in Ducati. The move makes a lot of sense being an Italian based team and Furbetta also shares a close friendship with Antonio Cairoli who is involved in the project.

Ducati Corse Off-Road General Manager, Paolo Ciabatti exclusively told us the plans in a recent interview:

“Yes, we can confirm that it will be Beddini Racing to run our 250cc program this year, and also in the MX2 World Championship in 2026”.

Ciabatti also confirmed that Alessandro Lupino will be the teams rider in 2025 focusing on the Italian Championship to develop and improve the bike for the future.

“For the moment only Lupino has tested the Desmo250 MX and he will race the Italian Championship with our new machine starting from Ottobiano on March the 9th. We hope to give also Tony a chance to test the new bike soon”.

We still await for the official press release and images of the all new Desmo250 MX machine but it is an exciting time for the Beddini team who will be part of the Ducati project.
