Coming into the 2025 season, there was plenty of excitement surrounding Cas Valk after he signed with Van Venrooy KTM to make his debut in the MX2 World Championship. The Dutch talent showed good speed throughout his rookie campaign and, despite the usual ups and downs of a first season in the class, he gained plenty of experience on his way to finishing twelfth in the championship standings.
As we previously reported, Valk and Van Venrooy KTM are expected to part ways now that the season has concluded, leaving questions over his next move. At one stage, his future appeared uncertain, but the good news is that Valk looks set to remain in the GP paddock for another crack at MX2 in 2026.
We understand that Valk is on the verge of signing with the TM Moto CRD Motosport team for the upcoming season. The switch will see him move from an Austrian to an Italian manufacturer, meaning there will be an adaptation period as he settles onto new machinery. However, Valk is no stranger to Italian setups, having previously spent time with the Maddii Racing team earlier in his career.
TM Moto CRD Motosport fielded Julius Mikula in MX2 this year, with the Czech rider showing flashes of potential on his way to seventeenth in the championship standings. It has already been confirmed that Mikula won’t remain with TM for 2026, so all eyes will be on what direction his career takes next.
Elsewhere, TM’s EMX125 program also looks set for change. Nicky Mannini contested the series this year but has already officially parted ways with the Italian brand. Andrea Uccellini is strongly linked with a spot on TM for 2026 to contest the EMX125 championship, though confirmation on that front is still pending.
For now, all signs point toward Valk spearheading TM’s MX2 efforts next season. If the deal is finalised, it will be an important step in the young Dutchman’s development as he continues to establish himself at world championship level.
As always, we’ll keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
