Jorge Prado on Unadilla – focusing on the positives

Jorge Prado had a bit of a nightmare at Unadilla starting first and finishing 15th in moto one as he struggles to get comfortable on the Kawasaki amidst rumours of an option at KTM for 2026. Unadilla will not have eased Prado’s concerns about the bike as he finished 12th in moto two. Not the level the four time world champ is expecting but he still looked for the positives.

Prado said: “Not the weekend I was hoping for, but we have some positive results to take away. I got fifth in qualifying, which helped set me up with a good gate pick for Moto 1. I was able to get the holeshot in the first moto and ran up front for a bit, but the track was very dry and hard-packed, making it difficult to ride and I dropped back to 15th. In the second moto, I got shuffled back off the start and had to work my way up to finish 12th. We’ll focus on the next race and closing out the motocross season strong.”

It might be best for all parties if Prado can indeed get the KTM ride even if it may just be for bonuses, he is far too talented to lose another year of his career. Jorge needs to show America his real level, and KTM looks to be the best way to do that.
