Race One: The first race of the year was a cracker! It was Shana van der Vlist who grabbed the holeshot on her Yamaha and she was looking great the front. There wasn’t much to split the first four riders for the first half of the race.

It was Guillen who was on the move as she passed van Drunen and Van der Vlist to get into the lead. Van Drunen quickly got into second and with three laps to go closed on Guillen. Then the Spaniard had a big crash as she cross rutted – thankfully she was able to get going again and finished tenth.

It meant a sick Van Drunen was able to take the win with Lynn Valk passing van der Vlist in a superb race.

Fontanesi got promoted to fourth with Anderson rounding out the top five.

Race Two: It was Valk who got the holeshot in the second race and she was looking great at the front for the first couple of laps – she knew she had to win to take the overall. But then she made a costly mistake which allowed van der Vlist into the lead.

Van der Vlist has been fast all weekend in her return to racing and was looking great at the front but then with a couple of minutes to go van Drunen made a decisive pass and then pulled away to go 1-1.

Valk was able to get back to third passing the impressive Sara Andersen to make sure she was able to get a podium in the first GP of the year. Guillen got a bad start and then didn’t ride with the same flow as yesterday so had to settle for fifth.
