Official: Mads Fredsøe signs with Becker KTM – MX2 World Championship in 2027

Danish talent Mads Fredsøe has secured a new opportunity for the 2027 season after confirming a move to Becker KTM for the MX2 World Championship. Fredsøe has spent the previous three seasons competing in the EMX250 Championship, initially racing with Beddini GasGas before making the switch to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Racing for 2025 where he has spent the past two season’s.

Now, the Dane is set to take the next step in his career and finally make the move into the MX2 World Championship, which has been one of his main goals. The plan is to contest all the rounds that take place in Europe.

The deal with German-based Becker KTM will give Fredsøe the opportunity to compete on the world stage in 2027 as he looks to continue his development and establish himself in the MX2 class.

Before beginning his new chapter in the World Championship, Fredsøe will get an early opportunity to work with his new team this weekend at the Motocross des Nations. The Dane will compete on the 350cc machine for Team Denmark at Ernée alongside Mikkel Haarup and Nicolai Skovbjerg.

The 2026 Motocross des Nations will therefore provide Fredsøe with valuable experience ahead of his first MX2 World Championship campaign with Becker KTM in 2027. It marks an important next step for the young Dane, who will be aiming to make the most of his opportunity and prove himself against the world’s best MX2 riders next season.

Mads Fredsøe:

“I’m really happy for a fresh start with some great people around me. Thomas from Becker Racing is a good guy and willing to do everything he can with his team and sponsors, together with my KTM contract and my own personal sponsors, we’ve managed to put a great deal together for next year. We’ve already started. My old mechanic Wolf — awesome guy — and I have been training and working hard these past few weeks to get ready for the MXoN this weekend. I’m really looking forward to getting out there, representing my country and giving it everything I’ve got”

“Looking ahead to next year, we’ve started a little earlier than planned with the new team at Becker Racing due to the split with my previous team. But we’ll be racing the MX2 World Championship European rounds next year, so this year was my final EMX season. I’m excited and happy with the people I have around me now. I felt like things had become a little grey in Holland over the last period, so I’m more than happy to move on and start fresh. Of course, the dream scenario would probably have been to join a factory team now that we’re moving up to the World Championship. But that wasn’t exactly an easy option after having technical issues at 5 out of the 11 EMX rounds this year”.

“Anyways, I’m a happy and motivated guy with the choices and plans we’ve made for next year. The MX2 World Championship will be a great challenge and a big step for my development, giving me the opportunity to become an even faster on a dirt bike. Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who has stood in my corner — even when things have gone up and down. Especially my family. Thank you to Kim Hedegaard, Black Sheep MX, KTM, MX Shop, Odense Auto El, Nørregaard Teknik, Haugaard Company A/S, Christian Holm, Padkjærs Murefirma, Thomas from Becker Racing and all of their sponsors”.
